Neither Chandler nor McKenzie could have ever predicated that taking on a coaching job would lead to a love story. Deciding to take on the role of a cheer coach during her second year of teaching was an exciting task for McKenzie, and stepping into his first coaching and teaching role was the next big step for Chandler. Over the course of those Friday night lights, both Chandler and McKenzie noticed each other but neither made their move. Thankfully, they were both in a profession full of nosy but well-intentioned children. A challenging game in Fordyce was the tipping point for the cheerleaders, who decided to take McKenzie's number to Chandler, unbeknownst to her. That first text while on the ride home was both thrilling and a beginning. Meaningful conversations and fun dates lead to the fateful day of October 25, 2022. This was the official start to the love story we are coming to celebrate today. Multiple trips, breath-taking moments, enough laughter to cure the world, and two hearts melding into one all came to ahead on December 20th, 2025 where Chandler dropped to one knee as McKenzie was surrounded by her parents and dogs.
