Mckenzie & Chance's Story

Chance and I actually went to South Jones together and rode the same school bus. Funny enough, I was friends with his sister, Kaitlyn, and I could not stand Chance on that bus. After my 9th grade year, I started homeschooling and didn’t see Chance again. Little did I know our paths would cross again a few years later. In late November 2023, Chance added one of my best friends on Snapchat and started flirting with her — but little did he know, she was about to send him my way instead. Once I added him, we started talking and laughing about all the funny stories from school and how much we couldn’t stand each other back then. When I finally saw Chance again in person after all those years, he honestly seemed way too nice to me. I know… who thinks like that? Apparently, I do! So, I stopped talking to him for a little while. Whenever my friends asked what happened, all I could say was, “He’s just too nice,” and I also worried he might be too young to be with someone who already had a child. But thankfully, I gave him a second chance. We started talking again and agreed to take things slow and really get to know each other. That’s exactly what we did, and after a few months, I realized he really wasn’t so bad after all. On January 16, 2024, Chance and I officially started dating. In the middle of February, I finally let him meet Carson, and the two of them got along so well from the very beginning. Chance truly showed me he was ready to love someone who had a child. I can honestly say he stepped up in every way and loves Carson like he’s his own. Over the last couple of years, he has taught Carson so much. He takes him fishing, hunting, mud riding, racing, to the movies, and so much more. Most importantly, he’s taught Carson how to love and respect a woman the right way. The first vacation Chance and I ever took together was a cruise to Cozumel and Progreso, and it became one of our favorite memories together. Then, in May 2024, we moved in together and officially started building our little life as a family. Of course, like every couple, we’ve had our ups and downs over the last few years, but we’ve never given up on each other. We communicate, grow together, and always try to be better for one another. Through it all, Chance has never given up on me or Carson. Everything he does is for this little family of ours. Ever since late 2024, I always joked with Chance and said, “I reckon we’re just going to be one of those couples that dates forever and never gets married.” Well… on December 25, 2025, Chance proved me wrong when he finally got down on one knee and proposed. ❤️
