We both moved to this town called Craig Co at the same time and had no clue what was in store for us. Who knew you could find love there. He moved for work, and she moved for school. A couple days later, on a random Thursday we were both scrolling on this dating app called Bumble. We were not looking for love but love found us. We decided to meet up that labor day weekend in September of 2023. Since the night we met, we were inseparable. Everyday that week was a dream. Monday we met, Tuesday we had our first kiss that felt like fireworks, Wednesday we had a campfire and talked all night (that's the night we like to say we fell in love). By that weekend he met McKenzie's family, made it official, moved in together, and said our first 'I love you's'. We moved fast, however it just simply felt right. Then November came along and he had to move over 1000 miles away but that didn't discourage us to keep going. We would visit each other on holidays and her time off from school. 9 months apart from each other just made our love grow stronger. Then July of 2024 came around and we went back to his home state in Washington for his sister Devin and husband Dylan's wedding. A couple days before their wedding he proposed at this beautiful beach on July 25th. the most magical moment in our lives. Sadly after that trip in July, Derrick had to go back to work in Corpus Christi Texas, and McKenzie had to go back to Craig to finish up the last couple weeks of school. As soon as she graduated from cosmetology school a week later she had all her bags packed, and hopped on a plane and moved in officially. Now everyday feels like a fairy tale!
