Wedding Party

The Wedding Website of Sarah McKenzi Lewis and James Alan Kee
I invite you to meet the friends and family who are walking down the isle with us. We are so excited they could stand along side us on this special day.

Holley Womack

Maid of Honor

Holley and Mckenzi met in the early spring of 2018. They had both signed up to run a relay race from Chattanooga to Nashville. This race consisted of 12 sweaty people, 2 vans, 200 grueling miles, and 48 long hours. It didn’t take long crammed in that small mini van for Holley and McKenzi to know that they were going to be best friends. After the race they stayed in touch, continued to build their friendship and even became roommates for a short while. They would take their 3 dogs on weekend hikes that ran beside rivers, begin to train for other races and triathlons, and on Sundays even walk down the hill to eat brunch (and drink mimosas). Holley eventually adopted McKenzi into her family, taking her on beach vacations with her Mother, Holly, and her two brothers Hameric and William. Amid the lot of them, they had enough dogs to build a sled team. Between wedding planning and adult responsibilities Holley and McKenzi still find time to laugh until their bellies hurt, start new crafts, and have karaoke nights that now involve her 3 year old daughter, Max. McKenzi is delighted that Holley has accepted the role of Maid of Honor at her wedding, and knows that you will love Holley just as much as she does.

Marissa Holt

Bridesmaid

Marissa Holt (formerly Scully) is McKenzi’s high school best friend. They met on a bus ride home from school one day in 2006 when McKenzi approached Marissa asking her if she would like to read a comic McKenzi both wrote and drew about a cat. Marissa did not, in fact, want to read a comic about a cat and yet she did anyways. From that point on they have shared a friendship that has lasted through the years and through miles apart. From walking to each other's homes in their neighborhood, to college roommates, from bartenders, to project managers, and motherhood they have stayed friends all this time. McKenzi is thrilled that Marissa has found the time to accept her role as bridesmaid, even though she has a brand new baby boy, Blake (or LB as we like to call him). She’ll keep you laughing through the wedding day with her dry humor and quick wit.

Paige Smith

Bridesmaid

Paige and McKenzi met in the early days of 2010 when they were randomly assigned to be roommates at their college apartment complex right outside of MTSU. It was admittedly (on both sides) slow moving as friendships go. McKenzi constantly annoyed Paige with her loud nature and fast pace and McKenzi was regularly irritated by Paige’s pickiness and Memphis attitude. However, that slow build of a friendship has turned out to be one of the most rewarding relationships McKenzi has ever had. After years of not seeing each other they reconnected one beautiful summer in Chattanooga with McKenzi taking Paige to her favorite climbing spots, sunniest kayaking put-ins, to see local bluegrass music at three sisters outdoor music festival, and introduced her to her now husband, Casey Smith. That weekend Paige knew that she wanted to call Chattanooga home, too. McKenzi could not have been happier to have one of her very best friends move closer to her. Since then they have been through tough times that McKenzi couldn’t have gotten through without Paige, traveled out of the country together to Peru, and created a million cherished memories that words here just could not do justice. McKenzi is so happy to have Paige by her side on this special day.

Kaylee Grodzki

Bridesmaid

Kaylee and McKenzi met briefly in the cold December of 2014 at a girls weekend bonfire. McKenzi screeched into the driveway with a Christmas tree on her Subaru, gave it to the group, told Kaylee she had been stalking her business on social media and she was “the most badass woman she had ever seen”, and then promptly drove off into the sunset. The two would not meet again for a few months. The next time they would see each other would be at a climbing event where they were mistaken for each other by almost everyone in the building, including their boyfriends. If you could have seen the outfits they were wearing, you would understand. Both in black and white flannels, same color hair, similar build. The two girls couldn’t even be mad. At this point, they just knew they had to be friends! They began climbing together regularly, building trust one belay at a time. Practicing yoga, learning silks, and diving into meditation at Kaylee’s studio, Peace Strength Yoga. Eventually, Kaylee convinced McKenzi that she should go through yoga teacher training where they were able to spend even more hours together deeping their friendship. Years spent laughing, and crying, and cathartic screaming into the woods have brought Kaylee and McKenzi to the point of sisterhood. McKenzi couldn’t imagine walking down the aisle without this wonderful friend, even if she does have to make her fly in from Massechusettes.
