It all began in Colorado, when McKenzee was a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy, and Kaylee was attending the nursing program at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. We first crossed paths at a country bar (Cowboys - Downtown CO Springs), of all places, where fate decided that the best way to start things off would be with a kiss—before we even introduced ourselves. Yep, you read that right. No names, no small talk, just a kiss. Because why not skip straight to the good stuff, right? After that spontaneous moment, McKenzee suggested we keep the night going. So, like any romantic adventurers, we decided to head to IHOP for pancakes at 3 a.m. (an excellent choice, obviously). But why stop there? The night was young, and who needs sleep when you have a jacuzzi to visit? McKenzee, with all the enthusiasm and creative thinking you’d expect from someone with Air Force training, convinced Kaylee that heading to an apartment complex to soak in the jacuzzi and watch the sunrise was definitely a good idea. And guess what? It was. We spent the next few years navigating the ups and downs of life, cheering each other on through challenging courses at school, and attending endless EDM concerts while also finding peace in Colorado’s breathtaking landscapes. Through it all, we learned balance. McKenzee taught Kaylee how to conquer challenges, and Kaylee reminded McKenzee to slow down and enjoy the little things in life. We weren’t just partners—we were each other’s safe space, navigating the adventure of life side by side, supporting one another, finding joy in the small moments, and living life to the fullest. Our journey took us from Colorado to Texas for training, where we learned what it really means to be adults (spoiler: it involves a lot of bills and laundry). But we knew one thing for sure: we were in this together. Nine months later, we made our way to South Carolina, and our love for adventure continued. We decided to take a leap and traveled to Bali and Italy - because why not hit two incredible destinations in one year? Italy was the perfect place to celebrate not only incredible pasta and wine, but also the depth of our relationship. As we were going on a morning hike in the rolling hills of Tuscany, after getting seriously lost (thanks, All Trails), McKenzee proposed - and Kaylee said yes! Only a month later, we thought, “Why wait?” We had the rest of our lives ahead of us, so we decided to kick things off in style. We made it official at the courthouse in an intimate, special ceremony where we promised to spend forever together. We’ve always dreamed of celebrating our love for each other with a bigger wedding, so here we are—excited to share this next chapter of our journey surrounded by those who mean the most to us. Our wedding day will be a celebration of love, laughter, and all the incredible moments we have all shared. We’re so grateful to have you all by our side as we begin the rest of our lives together.
