COVID-19 Updates

Our wedding will still take place on July 18th, 2020. Due to current government regulations, we have decided to have a small, family wedding. We would love for everyone to have the opportunity to join us virtually as we share our vows! Please see our Live Stream tab and Virtual Guest Book tab for instructions on how to participate.

Our Story

When Steve Roberts and David Burnett decided to attend a men's fly fishing weekend trip during the Summer of 2018, they probably did not expect to be part of the reason that two of their kids would meet and get married. But after Turner and McKenna found out about each other, they didn't need any more help deciding they would be together for life. After three dates, they decided to keep loving each other over 2,000 miles between Seattle and Nashville where Turner goes to school. Now, with nearly 2 years of long-distance dating and engagement, they could not be more excited to start a lifetime together. This beautiful celebration will be at the same place the couple shared their first conversation alone, first date, first kiss, and engagement!

The Proposal

12 August 2019

As soon as I saw a picture of McKenna, I tried to figure out how she could become my wife. This was a moment that I daydreamed about since grade school. When I was 17 I even wrote a song for my future wife, telling myself that no girl would hear it until I proposed to her. After almost exactly one year of dating, I made plans to let McKenna know that she was that girl. On a flawless August evening, McKenna and I ate dinner at Salish Lodge, overlooking the beautiful Snoqualmie Falls. We prayed together for the next year- McKenna thinking it was for another year of dating, while I knew that it would be a year preparing for marriage. While we were at dinner, our families were decorating the Roberts' back yard and dock with hundreds of candles and flowers. We arrived at her house just in time for a gorgeous sunset. I led McKenna down to the dock and played her the song I wrote at 17, on the guitar I wrote it with, before asking her to spend the rest of her life with me. She said yes, and we joined our families for an evening of exciting celebration, knowing that the moment could not be more perfect.

Our wedding

It will be very special for Turner and McKenna to get married at the site of their first date and first kiss and the place where Turner proposed. They will also be planting a lovely Magnolia tree on the grounds that they look forward to seeing grow taller and stronger every year as its roots grow deep, just as their marriage is sure to do as well. Turner and McKenna are so grateful to be celebrating this beautiful season with you!
