Wedding Party

Meet our family and friends who are walking down the aisle with us...

Gabrielle Henderson

Maid of Honor

McKenna met Gabby the summer before freshman year at Creighton—they chose each other through roommate selection, and it quickly became clear it was the right choice. From the start, they bonded over their love of Disney, elephants, and anything made with a potato. Gabby is someone who just understands McKenna better than anyone else (aside from Nate). She’s the kind of friend who never needs things explained—she just gets it. Her quiet support, genuine heart, and constant presence have made her one of the most important people in McKenna’s life. A proud Omaha native and self-declared Jaysker, Gabby loves romance novels, crafting, and will never say no to Mula. She’s a Labor & Delivery nurse at Methodist Women’s Hospital, and is currently working toward her Master’s in Nursing Education. She’s also a proud cat mom to her sidekick, Sunny. McKenna couldn’t imagine this day without Gabby by her side as Maid of Honor.

Allison Topps

Bridesmaid & Officiant

McKenna met Allison during their freshman year communications class at Creighton, where they bonded over being nursing majors. Their friendship really grew sophomore year, and they eventually became roommates for five years. Allison is the friend McKenna can be her goofiest, most unfiltered self with. Together, they’ve created nonsense languages, rewatched Shrek and Ice Age more times than they’ll admit, and mastered the art of late-night DoorDash. She brings endless humor, loyalty, and chaotic good energy into McKenna’s life. Allison is a military kid who moved to Omaha from Colorado Springs, she now lives just five minutes away from McKenna and works as an ECMO nurse at Children’s Nebraska. She’s also a proud dog mom to Theo, her endlessly energetic pup. McKenna couldn’t imagine her day without Allison—and is beyond honored to have her not only standing beside her but also officiating the ceremony.

Avery Carr

Bridesmaid

McKenna met Avery through Allison, her sophomore year roommate and fellow nursing student. They quickly bonded over Mula dates, TV marathons (The Summer I Turned Pretty, Love Is Blind), and deep conversations about self-care and fictional men from fantasy novels—especially their shared love for the ACOTAR series. Avery has a knack for making people feel seen and special, and McKenna always walks away from time with her feeling exactly that. She proudly embraces her grandma hobbies—crocheting tiny animals, collecting cute cups, painting door signs, and planning themed house parties. She’s also fiercely loyal to Diet Coke, Trader Joe’s, and Chick-fil-A, and will happily drop everything for a snack run or a cozy night in. Originally from Lawrence, KS, Avery now works as a pediatric cardiac ICU nurse at Children’s Nebraska, healing one tiny heart at a time.

Shelby Hunter

Bridesmaid

McKenna met Shelby through Allison, another one of her college roommates. Their friendship began with pumpkin snickerdoodles and grew stronger from there—Gabby and McKenna even baked Shelby’s 20th birthday cake! A fellow nursing major, Shelby quickly became part of the crew. Shelby is a lover of Ron Weasley, dark romance novels, anything slightly witchy, her cat Wallen, and her fiancé Carl. She’s also a fan of crafts, ghost stories, Mula, and rewatching Criminal Minds. Originally from Colorado, Shelby has worked as a mental health nurse, a hospice nurse, and now works in a clinic while earning her Master’s in Nursing Education. With her own wedding coming up next September, it’s been such a special experience for her and McKenna to plan side by side.

Casey Jacobsen

Bridesmaid

McKenna and Casey both went to Creighton, but their friendship truly began when they started their first jobs together as Labor & Delivery nurses. From the beginning, McKenna admired Casey’s compassion, boldness, and the way she fiercely advocates for her patients. Originally from Kansas City, Casey stayed in Omaha after graduation. She’s now a maternal health float nurse, working across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and sometimes even NICU. Recently, she became a mom to her beautiful son, Oliver—and McKenna proudly claims the title of aunt. McKenna was honored to stand by Casey in her wedding, and now she’s thrilled to have Casey by her side for hers.

Abigail Sievers

Bridesmaid

Abby became McKenna’s sister when her dad married Abby’s mom — but their story started even earlier. They first met at a squadron Christmas party when they were just 8 & 9 years old, and after a play date arranged by their parents, their families began to blend. Despite being very different, the two bonded quickly. Growing up, McKenna often found herself trying to keep Abby out of trouble… though Abby didn’t always listen. Abby has always been bold, sassy, and completely unapologetically herself—and she can rock a tall pair of heels like no one else. Abby now travels the world as a flight attendant for Delta and also holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry. She brings a spark wherever she goes, and McKenna’s excited to have her sister standing with her on the big day.

Nathan Andrews

Best Man

Nate and Nathan go way back. Meeting in middle school, having the same name was good enough start a friendship, being involved in a lot of the same activities cemented it for the years to come. Be it playing trumpet in the school band, running cross-country, or playing soccer, the pairing of Nates was a well known duo. Their friendshhip continued through highschool and college, with them becoming roommates at UNL. After getting his undergraduate degree, Nathan went on to med school and is currently studying to become a doctor

Tyler Miller

Groomsman

Nate and Tyler met early on in college and it didn't take long for the two to become close. Having the same major, Nate and Tyler naturally had very similar schedules and studied a lot together. Although our approach to studies differed often, it was invaluable having someone to bounce ideas off of and complain about the tests with. A lot of college was spent together as Tyler was also a skilled trumpet player, boardgame enthusiast, and roommate. Ever the academic, Tyler continued his studies in tissue engineering after undergrad. Now with a Masters degree, Tyler joined Nate working at Streck.

Daniel Keis

Groomsman

First getting to know each other by competing on the soccer pitch, Dan and Nate met early in their time at UNL together. Learning that Dan was an avid boardgamer and Super Smash Bros player, it wasn't long they started spending countless hours competing against one another in their free time. Raised in Minnesota, Dan is naturally a Vikings fan and pronouncing bag like beg. Rounding out his athleticism, he enjoys movies and has started writing short stories.

PJ Miguelino

Groomsman

PJ was one of the first people Nate met in college. Freshman year roommates by chance, Nate and PJ became friends through the chaos of living together. Through a shared love of board games and an enjoyment of random debates, living with PJ was a highlight of Nate's freshman year. PJ has a great sense of humor, a quick wit, and the intelligence to back it up. His speaking skills and ability to think have put him through Law school and over to North Carolina to pursue a career as an attorney.

Kobe Taylor

Groomsman

Kobe was part of the same engineering learning community as Nate in college. Though Kobe left engineering to pursue a career in Golf, they remained close through shared interest in gaming and intramural sports. Kobe has that classic older brother energy of messing with you but in a sarcastic and playful way. Fall is a great time for Kobe as work starts winding down from the busy golfing season, allowing time to sip on nice whiskeys and enjoy watching football and basketball start up.

Kenneth Weander

Groomsman

Nate met Kenny late freshman year at UNL through Tyler. Their friendship deepened over the next few years with a trip to Minnesota to visit Kobe together, numerous rounds of frisbee golf, and peer pressure on Nate to spend money on things besides food. Kenny is an easy-going guy, always down to have a good time and just shoot the breeze with. Kenny is big on sports, his wife Erica, and his two kids Emery and Kennedy.
