We are so excited to celebrate with you in Quito! Because the city is located 9,350 feet above sea level in the Andes, the air is thinner than what most of our guests are used to back home. To ensure you feel your best throughout the wedding festivities, please keep the following tips in mind: • Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: Drink plenty of water before you arrive and throughout your stay. Staying hydrated is the best way to help your body adjust to the altitude. • Take It Easy: Don't demand too much of your body physically during your first 24–48 hours. Give yourself time to acclimate before heading out on any strenuous excursions. • Alcohol "Hits Different": Be mindful that one alcoholic drink at this elevation can feel like two or three. Pace yourself and enjoy the local flavors slowly! • Sun Protection: You are much closer to the sun here. Even if it feels cool or cloudy, please wear sunscreen to avoid a surprise burn.
