We met at a wrestling tournament in Garrett's senior year of high school at WLHS, and McKenna's freshmen year of college at WLC in January of 2020. We started dating Valentine's weekend on February 15th. After an attempt at a distance for less than six months during 2020, we both ended up at WLC. With classes, work, and co-curriculars together, there has really never been a time we have been apart. Now, as McKenna finishes up her Masters's degree in social work at Ohio State, and Garrett completes his graphic design degree at WLC, a new chapter is opening finally, five years later.

We are going to be The Dietze's! This is absolutely nothing against the name Doan, but after many initial jokes by McKenna, and then lengthy discussions with each other and with family, we have decided to stick with McKenna's last name. Both names are simple, one syllable, short and sweet, starting with D, but McKenna has more family history associated with the name Dietze. Garrett was not forced into this, McKenna promises.
