As many of you know, McKenna and Brody are die-hard slo-pitch players — so naturally, it makes perfect sense that their love story began at a ball tournament. They first met at the Warman Wasp Tournament. Brody had come over to chat with a friend, completely unaware that he was about to meet the love of his life. McKenna happened to be there with her team, and as the two started talking, everyone around them just assumed they already knew each other and both teams left them alone — they were getting along that well right from the start. Now, if you know McKenna, you know she hates bug spray — the smell, the feel, everything about it. But that night, the mosquitoes were brutal. After Brody offered her some bug spray a few times, she finally agreed… but instead of spraying herself, she decided to spray everyone around her instead! Apparently, that was all it took — because from that moment on, Brody was smitten. As the night went on, they made their way to the beer gardens and spent most of the evening talking and laughing together. When midnight rolled around, McKenna decided to head home, while Brody was staying at the campsite. But Brody wasn’t quite ready for the night to end — he wanted to keep hanging out. McKenna said she’d head back to Saskatoon, check out a bar, and come back for him if it looked good. So, Brody ran to his tent, threw on his “fancy pants” — his blue jeans — and waited for her message. Unfortunately for Brody, he fell asleep in those fancy pants waiting, and McKenna… well, she never made it to the bar. She went to bed instead! The next morning, they laughed about it, and from there — well, the rest is history. they couldn’t be happier and more excited, ready to spend the rest of their lives together and celebrate this incredible moment with all of you.
