Steven and I first met in 2015 when I joined the Hardeman County Rescue Squad, of which he was already a member. Steven made sure to help me every step of my training process. He and I quickly became bestfriends, there wasn't a day that went by without at least a message from the other. Steven was the first to show his intrest in me, and while I knew in my heart i felt the same, I was too scared to ruin the amazing friendship we had.
In October of 2017, Steven and I loaded up his truck and headed to Gatlinburg, for the annual Tenneessee Association of Rescue Squads convention. (in retrospect im almost certain Steven second guessed this choice after the 6 hour live concert held by none other than me LOL). This week was paramount in our story. Steven showed me love, kindness, and compassion that no other man had ever offered to me in my life. Somewhere between the competitions, nights on the town, and laughter, I fell in love. Steven and I couldnt wait to get home and start this new journey in life with each other. Little did we know we had found the one whom we would spend the rest of our lives with.
Times passed, the good and the bad, but Steven and I always had each others back. In October of 2019, Steven and I loaded on a plane heading towards Mexico! I had no idea that this trip had more in store for me than I ever could have Imagined. On October 11, 2019 Steven asked me to walk with him to the end of the pier, at sunset. I agreed and took his hand not knowing I was walking into my future with my bestfriend. Much to my surprise, the man of my dreams asked me to make him the happiest man in the world, and of course I screamed YES!!!! It was truly like a fairytale, the beautiful blue water, the irrodescent sky, and my bestfriend holding my hand. Alot has changed since Steven and I first met, but one thing has remained the same, he and I are still the best of friends!
