Brewery Hop
There are 40+ breweries in Charlotte, with many just minutes from Uptown in the neighborhood of South End. Some local favorites are Wooden Robot, Sycamore, Suffolk Punch, and The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (OMB).
Freedom Park
Take a walk around the lake, have a picnic, or even play some tennis or pickleball! Sarah Lenox lived down the street from Freedom Park for a couple of years and frequently visited for walks and even reading on the lawn.
Romare Bearden Park
Take a quick walk through Romare Bearden Park in Uptown for a stunning skyline view. You’ll spot Truist Field, where the Charlotte Knights MLB team plays, and around the corner, Bank of America stadium - home of the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte Football Club.
The Mint Museum – Uptown
U.S. National Whitewater Center
The US National Whitewater Center is in Charlotte (13 miles northwest of Uptown). Covering 1300 acres of land, there are trails for biking and hiking, ropes courses, climbing towers and more. The property runs along the Catawba River, where you can participate in many water activities, and there are man-made whitewater rapids courses (the US Olympic whitewater rafting team trains here)! There is an outdoor concert series that takes place on Thursday-Saturday evenings through the fall, which is always fun! You can purchase daily activity passes on their website. Please note there is a $12/vehicle parking fee.
