We actually first talked on a dating app. Before you decide that dating apps are crap and can't find you love, read our story and maybe don't give up just yet! Michael and I had been talking for awhile through the app and one day we decided to meet somewhere in person. I suggested a coffee place close by my house because I rationalized that if he turned out to be a killer or something then I would know where to run. I had never met anyone else off of this site in person so needless to say I was a bit nervous. Upon seeing Michael for the first time I will admit that I was not instantly love struck but can say I was relieved that I a) wasn't catfished and b) date had shown. When we sat down and got out some of the awkwardness of the first date, we had the best conversation. I felt instantly compatible with him and wished that date could never end. I know that sounds very cliche and unrealistic but honestly that's what I thought. We began dating regularly after that and 9 months later he moved in with me, 2 years later and he proposed to me...In Iceland! It was magical and beautiful, also something I'd envisioned briefly after he mentioned taking me to the country he once lived for a time. We are both excited to celebrate our love with you all and finally live out the rest of our lives together! In conclusion dating apps may seem like superficial and impractical ways to form a real relationship but trust us they can work out. :)
