Ryan and Sarah met on Hinge in January, when Sarah matched with Ryan because he was so cute. The conversation immediately was so intriguing and interesting that Ryan asked for her number. Sarah immediately texted him and started asking the real hard-hitting questions like “Are you a cat person or a dog person?” that Ryan answered incorrectly by stating he was a dog person. Somehow Ryan managed to get Sarah to agree to a date night at Sixty Vines in Plano. They were both very nervous to meet each other but all of that faded once they laid eyes on one another. Sarah began to talk about all the things (but mainly Holly, her foster cat at the time) and made Ryan try the mushrooms in her pasta even though he hates them. The date was perfect and they spent another 2 hours in the car going over the important things like music taste, favorite movies, etc. After the date, Sarah knew Ryan was something special and her person. Ryan, on the other hand, of course was very hardheaded and stubborn so much so that he needed to be reminded for 4 months of how great Sarah was. They would hang out constantly during that time and talk every day and night on the phone with Ryan insisting they were still just friends. Sarah decided that she was over Ryan acting like he didn’t want to be with her so she put him to the test. She went on a date just to give him that final push (meaning “you are going to lose me man if you don’t start acting right). Ryan got the hint (finally!!) and decided to go all in and make Sarah his girlfriend. The rest is how some authors would say is history, but this author would say it was just the beginning of a wonderful, kind, and beautiful relationship with a foundation built with God, love, and patience… lots of patience. -Ryan McKee
