A beautiful casual stroll along the McCloud river to end at a set of beautiful water falls. Google "McCloud River Falls" and park at the lower falls parking lot. Follow the river along the defined, flat path for roughly a mile to end at this beautiful water fall!
This hike gives you beautiful peaking views of Mount Shasta. Starting at the castle lake parking lot, you will meander uphill to heart lake after about 1.5 miles. You can continue the last half miles to the sumit and have a beautiful view of Mount Shasta and Castle Lake below you.
This state parks has wonderful options for hiking and rock climbing. This was the park we got engaged in! Please note that there are fees for entering the park and most hikes include elevation .
Google maps black butte trailhead and you will be lead to the starting point of this 5 mile roundtrip hike. The peak should be snow free at this time of year, so no ice gear required! There is substantial elevation gain but the views of Mount Shasta, Mount Eddy and Castle Crags is wonderful!

Burney Falls is within an hour drive of the wedding venue and has great walking and hiking trails. Burney falls itself is a beautiful water fall with lush forest and interesting volcanic geology.
Great little lake with drive up beaches and picknick areas. Get the right spot and you will have incredible views of Mount Shasta in the background.
