We met on a blind date, set up by a mutual co-worker. Our initial date came soon after texting and chatting on the phone, a few times. But as many of you know, our acquaintance at that time, was short lived. Due to constant time conflicts we lost touch. But as fate would have it, our paths would cross again. A few things in our lives had changed and now afforded us the space to fully invest in spending time with each other and cultivating a relationship. We were instantly inseparable. We worked together, we ate lunch together, we took our 15 minute breaks together. We were ALWAYS TOGETHER! And before we knew it, we had fallen in love. We'd become best friends. Shawn and Erica. Our fairytale story had now begun.
Covid-19 wrecked plans for our first big trip, to Cancun, in May. As restrictions lifted, we decided to take a trip, to get out of the house and away from the craziness of the pandemic. We decided we'd visit New Orleans. This is Shawn's favorite city and I hadn't been in quite some time. It was going to be the weekend of the 4th of July. We arrived and settled in for the evening, as we geared up for a full day ahead. We got out bright and early, to enjoy breakfast in and around Jackson Square. We ventured out for pictures and met a lovely group of girls, that had the same idea as us. They offered to take our picture and we obliged to do the same. But little did I know, Shawn had other plans. He fumbled about, with his infamous "man bag," dropped to his knee, stretched out his arms and asked me to be his bride. I screeched and squealed in utter surprise, excitement and pure happiness. This was the BEST DAY EVER! We are overjoyed and can't wait to share this moment with all of you. You are our dearest and closest friends and family. We love you and thank you for all of your well wishes and support. See you in January!!! XOXO.
