Please let us know via RSVP if your camping so we can anticipate the amount of people staying the night. Yes, there is camping, and amenities will be provided (i.e. toilets, kitchen, cooking gear, refrigeration). We welcome anyone to camp on our property on Saturday and Sunday night. Please come early on Saturday if you expect to camp. That way you can set up well before the ceremony and be ready to partake in festivities by 3pm. We will put you in touch with the camp coordinator as we get closer to showtime.
Here's a shortlist of things you'll want to bring: - Tent - Sleeping Bag - Sleeping Mat - Camp Chair(s) - Headlamp - Warm Clothes - Fun Clothes - Hiking Boots - Swim Suit - Snacks - Light meal planning (We will have collective food on sunday, but pack some nourishment, please) - Mountain Bike (amazing single track is only a pedal away) - Kiteboarding/Windsurfing Gear Town is not far away and there will be time to drop into Hood River on Sunday if needed.
Getting to our venue is a bit tricky if you rely on your smartphone (not that smart)! Please follow these directions to find your way safely! From Portland: Drive eastbound to Hood River on I84 Take Exit 62 (Westcliff Drive) Turn Left over the overpass and get back on I84 westbound, yes westbound. Drive back towards Portland until you see 'Service Road Exit'. Take this exit. Drive through tunnel and continue down Mitchell Point Drive past the dead end sign. The second driveway on the left with 4 mailboxes and a long uphill drive is us. Turn Left. Continue up drive until you get to the venue. It will be obvious. *Driving Tip: The drive is gravel and steep. Keep your vehicle in a low gear around 15mph. Don't stop or you will spin out. Don't drive too fast or you will spin out. If concerned about the drive please contact the parking coordinator. We will have contact info for this person at a later date.
Parking will be clearly marked. If you are only staying for the wedding follow the signs for day use parking. If you are staying the night, follow the signs for overnight parking.
We recommend booking your accommodations well in advance. Hood River is a busy and popular town!
Yes, we do live in a heavily forested area. If you plan on exploring and/or camping please be mindful of the poison oak. IT IS EVERYWHERE. Yes, we do have special soap available to wash yourself in the event you fowl up, but BE MINDFUL OF POISON OAK.
Please find accomodation for your pets well before the wedding. At the request of our gracious hosts and for the sanity of all invited, please leave your pets behind. They can come visit any other time of the year. - xoxo.
We're kinda funny about the whole registry 'thing'. We really don't need another monogrammed towel set, cuisinart, or toothbrush holder. We're well stocked on all that. If you must, please bring us a gift from the heart. We love art and creativity. Simplicity is bliss. However, if you're still feeling obligated we have only two things on our minds that we are working towards. The next big adventure (aka honeymoon) and a tipi (yes, a tipi). There's a spot in the registry to accept gifts for either our honeymoon or tipi fund. Cash works too! Honestly, your presence is the best gift you can give us. - xoxo
