Question

You've postponed your wedding, what's the new date again?

Answer

AUGUST 17th, 2021! You will receive a NEW invitation in the mail shortly with the pertinent information, make sure to be on the lookout for it. We have postponed our event to ensure the best possible turn out and the safety of our guests, based on current state mandates and restrictions.

Question

What's the process for getting to Hawai'i in light of covid-19 restrictions?

Answer

You need to visit safetravels.hawaii.gov . There, you will sign up for an account in which you will need to answer some questions and either provide a copy of your vaccination card OR proof that you have tested negative for covid-19 NO MORE THAN 72 hours before your flight to Hawai'i. Follow site instructions to attain your safetravels QR code, which you will likely need both after disembarking your plane and upon checking into hotels. Please also consider bringing a physical copy of your negative test or vaccination card. When you get to the airport, your status as either covid-negative or vaccinated will be verified by state officials, so it's best to have both virtual and physical documentation available!

Question

Any travel advice?

Answer

Drink lots of water, all the time. It’s very easy to get dehydrated out there! ALWAYS be respectful of the land around you and the people who live there. Prepare for a relaxed pace of life; people drive a little slower and live a little more patiently in Hawai'i than in most places in mainland USA, so take a deep breath and go with the local flow. In light of recent tensions between multitudes of disrespectful tourists and Hawai'i's residents, we suggest taking a short time to educate yourself on the state's history and culture. Support small local businesses when possible, and generally make a little more effort to be kind to the people around you throughout your visit. Remember: this is not Disneyland or just your fantasy vacation! This is a place with REAL people who live there 24/7, 365 days a year. Treat them how you would like to be treated if your home doubled as a tourist attraction.

Question

Are there options available for accommodation?

Answer

Yes! Both families have accommodation options for you to explore.

Question

Do you have any recommendations for my visit?

Answer

Plenty — all can be found under either the “Travel” or “Things to Do” tabs. Free activities will be noted as such!

Question

If I purchase an item from your registry, how will I get it to the wedding if I am traveling from out of state?

Answer

You won’t have to! Simply purchase the registry item on the "Registry" page, and we will immediately be able to have it shipped directly to our home.

Question

I’m already paying to travel, do I have to buy a wedding present too?

Answer

Absolutely not. Your presence is a gift enough for both of us; if it is not within your budget, you do not have to give a gift to be welcome!

Question

So, I found the exact same item on the registry, but elsewhere for a better price. Can I just buy the better deal, instead?

Answer

Please do! As we build our registry, you may find a good deal before we do. If you cannot mark off the item in the registry after purchasing from a different vendor, please contact either the mother of the bride, the mother of the groom, or the maid of honor; they will be able to edit the registry for you!

Question

I have access to resources that might be useful for the wedding. Is there anything I can do to help out in the wedding process?

Answer

Probably, and thank you! Please contact either Tracy McGrade, Jennifer McGrade, or Mary Wilkins.
