During Laura's first night in her new apartment she had just settled in from a day of moving, when the fire alarms went off! Laura and Brian met outside very briefly in the chaos of it all. Thankfully, there was no fire. Just faulty fire alarms that they got to experience regularly over the next couple of years. From this night on, Brian and Laura had the privilege of being neighbors, just a floor apart. A couple of years later, in the summer of 2020, Brian added Laura on Facebook and reached out. They instantly hit it off, and really connected. They talked about their mutual love for horror movies and got a feel for their compatible sense of sarcasm. Brian and Laura continued as neighbors who'd exchange friendly smiles and hellos over the next couple of years. Things really changed in the summer of 2022. After Volleyball one night, Laura was stopping home quickly before heading out to meet a friend for drinks. As she was waiting for her friend, she came outside to talk with Brian and Ozzy for a bit. While waiting, her friend had to cancel at the last minute, and Brian quickly offered to take her place. They went out for a couple of drinks and talked for hours. That was the night they both knew they found their person.
