Driving to Whidbey

Via Clinton-Mukilteo Ferry (~ 2 hours, more during peak traffic times) * Take I-5 N from SeaTac, 31 miles. * Take exit 182 onto Wa 525 N. * Follow 525 through Mukilteo to the ferry terminal. * Take the ferry to Clinton. * Drive off the ferry onto Wa 525. Ferries generally run between Whidbey (Clinton terminal) and Mukilteo every 30 min, on the hour and half hour, less frequently late at night. Check the WSDOT Ferries schedule (click VIEW below). Expect long ferry lines (30-60 minute waits) going to Whidbey Island Fri evenings and Sat mornings and leaving Sat and Sun PM. Via Deception Pass (~ 2.5 hours but no ferry. You may still hit heavy traffic on I-5 up to Everett). * Take I-5 N from SeaTac to Mt. Vernon (72 mi) * Take exit 226 in Mt. Vernon onto Kincaid St. Follow signs to Wa 536. * Merge (left) onto Wa 20. * Take Wa 20 to the Sharpes Corner roundabout. Turn left towards Oak Harbor/Deception Pass. * Cross the Deception Pass bridge onto Whidbey Island.
