In Dr. Michael Livingston's First Year seminar, Kaylee and Andrew sat across the room from each other. She thought he was smart. He thought her name was easy to remember. When they both showed up at Gorecki for dinner with mutual friends, they waited in line for food together. She couldn't believe HE was asking HER what she thought of class. He thought it would be awkward not to say something for the whole time. Fast forward and there were more conversations about the class, the world, and whether there were too many bugs at Lake Sarah. There were. A documentary about the ethics of the climate crisis sparked a conversation that still hasn't ended. Nerds... After years of dates to the movies, the dining hall, church, trails, and even London, they waited patiently (not) for the end of study abroad and a very long summer for the end of long distance. While Kaylee was still watching the countdown, Andrew flew out to Washington a few weeks before school (cheater!) to climb up a mountain with a very special ring and a very special question. He asked "Will you marry me?" She asked "What are you doing here!?" She said yes too. Soon they'll be back to the mountains to start a life together filled with love, joy, and more nerd stuff about ethical science. Wish them luck!
