For an outdoorsy adventure, Estes & Rocky Mountain National Park are under an hour away from Boulder! Estes park offers a main street of quaint stores with plenty of coffee and candy shops. Rocky Mountain National Park is nestled just 5min from downtown Estes Park and there is a hike for anyone. We highly recommend Dream Lake, it's where we took our engagement pictures!
For the local adventurer, the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) is a Boulder local exhibit and trailhead to many great trails ranging from easy to hard. One of the most popular trails is Royal Arch, a gorgeous hike with a healthy amount of elevation.
Tucked away in a place that feels like you're breaking into a warehouse, Sanitas has amazing beers, beautiful views, and an awesome taco truck. We'll be having our rehearsal dinner here but if you want to check it out beforehand so you know what beer to put on our tab, have at it!
Want to check out our neck of the woods? Olde Town Arvada is ~30min from downtown Boulder and is our neighborhood "downtown" area. Check out the Sunday Fall market, the tiki speakeasy at the Arvada Tavern (highly recommend the Coconut Old Fashioned), great brews at Denver Beer CO, get a sweet treat at Scrumptious, or stop by our personal favorite, Bluegrass Lounge (coffee shop by day, bourbon lounge by night). The RTD light rail runs through Olde Town, so if you want to go all the way to Downtown Denver, you can catch the train here!
