How We Met

June 2015

We were introduced at the gym by Kyle's dad. At the time we were both in relationships with other people, but a few months later we both found ourselves single. Kyle's favorite part of the story is that I gave him my number without him even asking, but he likes to leave out that he first proposed the idea of going out for a drink together. I was just helping the process along! Though he did wait the recommended three days to actually use my number.

The First Date

Sometime around 1.6.2016

Though we had been 'gym friends' for months and texting back and forth for a month, the first date took a little bit of convincing. Kyle got the idea in his head that I was "moody." To be fair he met me when I decided to change paths with my future 'career,' so to say I was stressed is an understatement. But he, of course, could not resist my undeniable wit and charm, and he finally asked me out on a date! Though he came from a full day of skiing and drinking, was a little hungover, barely touched his food, and ordered a cosmo. I now had some doubts. You see...I love to eat. Could I really date someone who ate that little? Luckily, we went on our second date a week later and Kyle redeemed himself!

The Proposal

1.6.2018

The night before our two year anniversary I had plans to exchange Christmas presents and hangout with my friend, Becca. A couple hours before we were supposed to meet up Bec texted me asking if I would go with her to get our nails done for a wedding she had the next day. I reluctantly agreed (I really dislike getting my nails done), and met her there a few hours later. When I got home that night Kyle eagerly asked to see my nails, something he has never done before. While watching TV he asked what I wanted to do the next day for our anniversary. "Well we already have reservations at VIA (first date spot), so it doesn't' really matter. I'll probably go to the gym in the morning, but that's all." To which he responded, "Okay, but you have to be ready by 10am." Kyle NEVER makes plans, but he is romantic when he needs to be. I thought it was super sweet that he had planned something for our anniversary, but didn't think it was more than that. The next morning I was ready to go at 9:57am (very unlike me to be ready on time), but Kyle ran into the bathroom and said we couldn't leave yet. A minute or two later he came out and said there was a car waiting out front for me. Confused I walked outside and saw Becca sitting in her car. When I got in she handed me an envelope marked 'Clue 1' in Kyle's handwriting. For the next hour or so Bec took me on a scavenger hunt that Kyle had set up, to all the places that were significant to our relationship. Where we met, our first date spot, our favorite walking path, and finally it ended at the 135 fields. Contact-less and without glasses I couldn't make out who was standing in the gazebo. I assumed one was Kyle, but couldn't figure out who the second person was (turns out it was Allison to take pictures of the proposal). I walked through the conveniently shoveled path, and it wasn't until I was about to go up the stairs that I saw the words 'Marry Me' in the snow. I of course said yes, or you wouldn't all be reading this!
