We’re Abby and Connor—and yes, we are finally dating. And getting married. So to everyone who called it years ago: YOU WIN. We first met as sophomores at church, though honestly… we barely noticed each other at first. (Crazy, right?) It wasn’t love at first sight—more like “casual acquaintances in the same building.” But over the years, something started to change. By the end of senior year and into college, we became good friends—the kind of friends who could talk about anything and laugh at everything. People kept asking if we were dating (spoiler alert: we weren’t), and many predicted we would one day. At the time, we laughed it off. Fast-forward a bit to a summer trip to D.C., between Connor’s junior and senior year of college. Somewhere between the Lincoln Memorial and the Arlington National Cemetery (which, fun fact, was our very first date spot), we realized this was something way more than friendship. And the proposal? Classic Connor move. On his own birthday, he set it all up. Abby’s mom lured her to the youth building at church under the very believable excuse of picking up info packets for the younger siblings. Instead of paperwork, Abby found Connor waiting—with a ring and a really big question. So now we’re here, officially proving everyone right. You all called it—and we couldn’t be happier about it. 💍💛
