Three months before graduation, Alex and I were both out at Tin Roof in Lexington, KY, on a Thursday night in March. I was with one of my girls, and he was with his buddies. It was when he was calling his roommate for a ride that I noticed him outside and thought to myself, "He's cute; I want to talk to him," so I called out to him (a complete stranger) and told him to come back inside. We proceeded to talk the rest of the evening, and when I introduced him to my friend, she was under the impression we had known each other for years. After having the best and most engaging conversation, despite being in a crowded bar, we exchanged numbers. Instead of Alex putting my contact as "Kathleen McGill," he put "Kathleen MyGirl." Eventually, his roommate arrived, and Alex said to him, "I just met the girl I am going to marry." My contact name to this day is still "Kathleen MyGirl" and is a sweet reminder of that unforgettable night.
