Officiant
Fernando has been a dear friend and trusted leader to Joshua since 2018, beginning on the SOS Adventure Festival grounds in Rwanda, Africa. Emily first met Fernando through her interview for Harvest Internship in March 2021. He has been an honored and cherished person in both of our lives before their relationship began. Fernando has seen us from the very beginning of our lives as Missionaries, as well as from the formation of our relationship. They honor him as our SOS Adventure leader, mentor, teacher and friend. They cannot imagine having anyone else marry them with the kind of impact he has made in their lives.
Flower Girl
Leah is Emily's younger cousin and has grown up with Emily in Southern California. She has been asked to be the flower girl while performing a hula dance dedicated to our love story. Along with a beautiful heart, she has a way of communicating through dance, having over 12 years of hula experience.
Ring Bearer
Daniel is Emily's older brother. As the older brother and having the life-time responsibility of protecting his baby sister, he has been asked to help Mr. McGehee hand off Emily to Joshua. He will do this by bearing their wedding rings. Daniel's running rule for Emily, since as long as she can remember is, "You can't hold hands until you're married." The day Emily and Joshua got engaged, he changed his rule and said, "You can have a boyfriend now."
Ring Bearer
Nicholas is Emily's baby brother. Although Emily has been the "little mama" to Nicholas since he was born, Nicholas has grown up to be a tender-hearted and caring young man, and protector of Emily. He has been asked to help Mr. McGehee hand off Emily to Joshua. He will do this by bearing their wedding rings with Daniel.
Maid of Honor
Chelsea is Emily's older (and only) sister. She is a force of strength, love, compassion and silliness. She keeps the meaning of Ohana alive, and has a brilliant mind for recreating and sustaining what her heart loves. Emily and Chelsea have been dreaming together since the dress-up days of childhood. Nothing in the world can replace a sister and the bond formed in this kind of relationship. She has been a staple woman in Emily's life, through life's highest highs and lowest lows. Chelsea will be up at the altar to witness one of Emily's childhood dreams come true.
Matron of Honor
Jacquline is Daniel's wife and a beautiful addition to the McGehee family. She is another fierce woman in Emily's life, whom has a never ending flow of joy, spunk, excitement, care and support coming from her. Jacqueline is a woman of inclusion, love, loyalty and creativity. She will join Emily at the altar as a sister, witnessing a dream come true.
Matron of Honor
Emily met Priscilla in 2018, but their friendship growing deeply in 2019 right after Emily returned from living abroad in Wales. Priscilla is a deep lover of Jesus and people. She is full of compassion, wisdom, creativity and goofiness. She sparks one to dream, dream again and dream BIGGER. She has been a solid woman in Emily's life through all seasons. She is a treasure and like family to the McGehee's. She will be up at the altar with Emily as a witness to an answered prayer.
Best Man
Jonas has been a friend of Josh's since 2014. He has been a solid anchor and support throughout the various seasons of life. From teenage wonders to post-college transitions, Jonas has been a consistent and faithful friend, the closest to a brother. He is a man of loyalty, a peace-maker, musician, creative, follower of Jesus and an adventurer. They are the best of buds. Jonas has been a role model for how a husband ought to graciously yet confidently lead his wife. Josh was asked to be part of Jonas's wedding when he married Anjel in 2019, and now Jonas will be Josh's best man.
Groomsman
Josh and Emily met Dustin through the Harvest Internship in Kenya in 2021. Dustin has been another solid man in Josh's life; carrying adventure under his belt, solid Biblical truth in his advice, goofiness and deep care. Dustin is also a good friend of Emily's, one who watches out for her, speaks life into her circumstances, where times spent together are filled with laughter and debates on the best coffee beans. He has a way of inspiring and championing people in such beautiful ways. He is a dreamer and an achiever; a musician, husband, father, missionary, friend, brother... and lover of coffee.
Groomsman
Elisha is a man of empathy and tenderness. Emily and Elisha served together for Kid's church in Kenya on Sunday mornings during the Harvest Internship, and has been an excellent friend to both Emily and Josh. He is a man of stability, care, kindness, and has a cheerful sense of humor. He has been an example of what a husband is to be like for Joshua. Throughout knowing Elisha, Joshua has valued his wisdom and has held onto words of truth that Elisha has shared with him. Joshua is honored to have Elisha join him at the altar this April.
Musician
Meagan is a sweet soul, a caring friend and has a way of surprising us all with her creative ways. Josh and Emily met Meagan in Kenya through the Harvest Internship in 2021, and has been on the worship team with Josh for the Mission Bible School in Kilgoris. Emily and Josh are honored to have her sing for the wedding ceremony.
Musician
Anjel is Jonas's wife and also a dear friend to Joshua. Throughout their friendship, Anjel has been a kind, supportive, and championing person that shines the kindness of God. She is a creative that expresses herself confidently through various art forms. Emily and Josh are honored to have her be a part of the ceremony as she uses her unique musical talents to usher in God's presence.
