We met through a mutual friend. Angie was finishing up her senior year at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky and Alex was a year out of college living in Knoxville, Tennessee a part of the Knoxville Fellows Program. Angie was in town for a visit and Alex caught her eye. They had spent part of the weekend getting to know each other but Angie had to return back to school that Sunday. We talked everyday after Angie went back to Kentucky, then began the long distance!
Alex and Angie had been driving back and forth from Kentucky to Tennessee almost every weekend to see each other. But, Angie graduated in May and was offered a job in Knoxville! No more FaceTime, late night drives home, and best of all, no more distance!
On New Years Day, Alex told Angie they were going to meet some friends for dinner... an hour away. As we were driving, Angie could tell Alex was nervous but she had no clue that meant they were getting engaged. They arrive and obviously there was no dinner. Alex took Angie down by the Tennessee River and asked to marry her... she said YES!
