Our First Connection

July 5th, 2021

We matched and started talking to each other on Facebook Dating. Most people don't even know it's a thing, but it is. Carson was my first match, and the only match I needed.

First Date

July 16th, 2021

We set a first date, but I had completely forgot that I was supposed to be making bouquets for my friend as her MOH. When I first told Carson about the mix-up he thought I was calling the whole thing off, but then was excited when I asked to meet him sooner than originally planned. We met at a hardware store/Bistro called Screw & Brew in Cannon Beach. He was so nervous he barely spoke to me at first, and I felt like I was talking too much. Eventually, he opened up. After eating our meals, we ended the night with a walk on the beach.

The Proposal

May 16th, 2021

We were working in the yard, building our garden boxes, and filling them with dirt. We finally had the heat get the best of us in the afternoon and decided to call it a day. After a while of sitting in the house Carson asked if I wanted to go for a drive. So we took off in his truck, in our dirt covered sweatpants, with our dog Titus. Carson drove us out to Hamlet to explore some logging roads. He drove us all the way up to a peak that overlooked all the trees in the valley below and a skyline full of rolling hilltops. We played with Titus for a bit, and started walking around. I walked to the edge to get a better view around us and when I turned around Carson was there. He said "I know you've been waiting for this, but I wanted to do it alone". He then got down on one knee and said "I know you're in your sweatpants, but I love you. Stacie Michelle Harper will you marry me?". And of course, I said " Yes".
