Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the rehearsal is casual - Ladies should wear sundresses, slacks & blouse, and gentlemen should wear polo shirts, khaki pants, etc. The ceremony and dinner is semi-formal. Ladies should wear knee or tea length dresses, skirt & blouse, nice pants suit, and gentlemen should choose a dress shirt and slacks, tie/blazer optional.

What will be served at the welcome dinner?

Answer

We will have a prix fix menu for guests to choose their meals. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided and a full cash bar available.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

July in Connecticut is normally mid-80s and sunny. There is always the chance of a shower, but we're hoping for a lovely summer day!

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both be held at 1754 House Inn & Restaurant. Please note that we hope to have an outdoor ceremony. Please be sure to pack sunscreen!

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

Immediately following the ceremony, the cocktail hour will start, followed by dinner.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Ceremony start time is 4:30 in the afternoon. We recommend arriving 15-20 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

1754 House Inn & Restaurant has a large parking lot available free of charge.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your kids, our wedding and celebration is going to be adults-only.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Are there rooms available near the ceremony and dinner location?

Answer

Yes! 1754 House Inn & Restaurant has rooms available. To book you will need to enter the promotional code: mcdunnah-davis2023. If 1754 House does not have any rooms available, please visit the travel page for another option.

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

The RSVP deadline is June 1, 2023. For the ceremony and dinner, please use either the pre-stamped response postcard in your invitation folder or RSVP online. RSVP for the welcome dinner can be done online or by emailing or texting the bride.

Will food and drinks be served at the reception?

Answer

Yes! After the ceremony we will have a dinner celebration with a wine & beer open bar, hors d'oeuvres, and a three course dinner will also be provided. Meal options will be available for selection on the website.

Will there be vegetarian/vegan/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

The dinner will have a vegetarian option. Meal selections can be made on the wedding website by June 1, 2023. Please be sure to visit the website prior to June 15th to make your meal selections. Should you have a dietary restriction not met by the meal choices, let the bride know via text (203-915-4174).

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

No, since all wedding related events are taking place at one location we will not be providing transportation.

Can I take pictures of the wedding and reception?

Answer

We encourage guests to take photos at the reception; however, please refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony.

Is 1754 House dog friendly?

Answer

Sadly, while we love dogs the 1754 House does not allow animals at the inn. If you are traveling with your pup, please contact The Milestone Inn for pet friendly accommodations.
