Every person you meet, every connection you create, every friendship that develops winds up impacting our lives in one way or another. It may be a small impact, or it may change your life forever. We thank the universe for the friends we made, without which we would not be gathering to celebrate our marriage. Summer 2016. Down in Los Angeles, Josh was contacted by his fraternity brother about visiting him in Washington state for a country music festival. One 3 hour flight later, hello Seattle, WA. Ashley, loving country and being from the area, was naturally going. One canceled campsite, a few texts exchanged between mutual friends, and the next thing you know Ashley and the group of girls she was with decided to join the same campsite Josh was at. One thing to know about Josh is that he is an accomplished woodsman; after all he was a Boyscout. Cold beers were opened before any of the campsite was set up, and Ashley, being the planner she is, could not let this go unfinished. At this point Josh was already quite taken with this fun-loving Washington girl, and knew this was his cue to step in. A simple, "Do you need help setting up that tent?", was all that it took for him to introduce himself and begin what would turn out to be the greatest love story of the past decade, at least (The Notebook ain't got nothing on us). They spent the rest of the weekend together, getting to know one another, sharing stories, and even stealing kisses. Their fate was sealed. Of course, no good love story would be complete without obstacles. Cue Josh moving 3000 miles across the U.S. to the opposite side of the country. A year of distance, many FaceTime calls, Ashley's decision to move to Tallahassee, a signed lease, and we find ourselves living happily together with a questionable amount of pets. However, our story has only just begun. There are many more pages to write, and we hope every friend (new, old, and yet to be known) can play a part in helping us fill those pages.
