Miserable Together Forever

It all began when I tagged along with a friend Lauren as her date to a volunteer EMS banquet. While there I met some of her colleagues and danced all night, throughout I argued with this guy about how stupid his hat looked, but not soon after he asked me to dance. Shortly after, this hat guy and myself decided to take photos together; we all had fun, ending the night with smiles. We departed never focusing on the event again. A few months later I joined this same volunteer EMS along with Lauren. While there I had a set schedule, because school only allowed me to volunteer on friday nights. I found out the guy with the stupid hat also volunteered at the same facility and only on Friday’s nights. Over the course of my volunteer training, we slowly became friends as I found him irritating and annoying. Eventually, we exchange phone numbers in case of emergencies during our shifts. Our casual friendship evolved into something more and my attraction to him grew emphatically. He annexed the moment and asked me out for drinks with friends, during which I discovered his emotions towards me and the crush he had on me since the banquet. The guy in the stupid hat and I formulated an eternal love, solely because I decided to tag along with my friend to a banquet.
