I went out for an evening with my friend Donna and her daughter Brea I was actually talking about my experiences on Match.com and how difficult it was to meet a good man. Brian had also come out to play shuffleboard and have a few drinks with his friend Tomas. A song that Donna liked came on the jukebox so she and Brianne and I were just dancing and laughing and having a good time. The next thing we knew, this this tall skinny guy was dancing with us in his flip-flops. Flip-flops or not, I quickly realized that he was actually a really good dancer. He flirted a little with each of us, but pretty soon, he and I were just sitting there laughing and talking about life. There was definitely a connection. He gave me his number and I called him a few days later. A week later, he asked me out. We decided to go to the Stanislaus County Fair because the rock band "America" was playing that night and it sounded like fun. Brian later shared that he was nervous about getting messy as he ate his barbequed tri-tip, but quickly realized he had no need to fear when I chose to chow down on a turkey leg! Hey, good bad or ugly, I don't ever try to be anything other than myself. He was in love! -Jenn
We went to Lake Tahoe and rode the gondola up to Heavenly. We got out to take a stroll where the gondola stops midway up the hill. It was a beautiful day and I remember taking in the view of the snowy hillside and the lake below. When we went back to the gondola, the workers held up a big banner which said, "Will you marry me?" Brian got down on one knee. He says that he had a wonderful speech prepared, but honestly I don't even think he got the question out because I was laughing and crying and saying "Yes, yes, yes!" -Jenn
