Some love stories start with destiny… Ours started with chaos, confusion, and a wrong turn. We first connected a couple of years ago, talking on and off, always staying in each other’s lives even when we weren’t sure what we were supposed to be to one another. There was always a spark — something familiar, something magnetic — but the timing never lined up. Then one day, life threw us into the most unexpected plot twist: his ex-wouldn’t leave him alone. After laughing about the drama, I suggested the craziest idea that somehow made perfect sense in the moment: “Let’s pretend we’re dating and maybe she’ll finally move on.” It was supposed to be a joke, a temporary plan, a way to make the situation disappear. So, we agreed to meet at a hookah lounge to start our “fake relationship.” I left work and thought it would be the easiest drive — only two turns total to get there. But somehow, halfway through, I managed to get completely turned around. Instead of heading toward the lounge, I ended up driving back toward work, practically retracing the whole route I had just taken. I was almost back in the parking lot before I realized what I had done. So, there I was: tired, laughing at myself, confused, and now running late to meet someone I was supposed to be “fake dating.” Not exactly the smoothest start. But the second we finally saw each other in person, everything changed. The nervousness disappeared. The conversation flowed like we had known each other forever.
