Celebrating Love During A Pandemic

We had originally started planning a big celebration. We had planned to have a lovely, intimate ceremony with our immediate family members in a very cute and quiet park in Richmond, Va with a big reception with friends and family following that evening at a romantic location called Blue Bee Cider. Due to the long lasting COVID-19 pandemic we have decided to postpone our big celebration. It is very important to us that our friends & family are safe and healthy and we would not want our commitment to each other to be the reason any of our loved ones became ill. We have a whole life time ahead of us to celebrate! For now we will be having a small social distance ceremony at a private residence with a few family members on our original date.

We met in Portland, Or through mutual friends! What we didn't know was that we had been close for most of our lives. When we started dating we found out that we lived about a mile away as young kids. In middle school Alex moved down to Richmond and lived there until her mid 20s. We realized that once Thomas moved to Richmond for college he lived right around the corner from Alex’s job and would eat at her restaurant often. After all this we didn’t meet till we both lived on the west coast.
