Jake and Mccrae have known each other since second grade (pictured below🥹), but their story really began during their senior year of high school. Jake used to skip class to go “visit his friends” in Mccrae’s study hall. After a while, it’s pretty likely his teacher forgot he was even in the class… but the truth was, those “friends” were just Mccrae—smooth, right? The more time they spent together, the more butterflies Mccrae got. She started looking forward to seeing him every day. Their relationship officially started when Jake asked if he could come hang out with her at the beach. That’s where they had their first kiss—and years later, it became the same spot where he proposed! Not long after that, Jake surprised Mccrae by asking her to senior prom with sunflowers. They had the best time and didn’t want the night to end. Then, on June 1st, 2021, he asked her to be his girlfriend! Their hearts were so full and excited for everything ahead. A few months later, Jake left for college at the University of Florida, and Mccrae visited him throughout the summer. Soon after, Jake’s lifelong dream of becoming a professional baseball player came true when he was drafted to the Cleveland Guardians! Mccrae started college at Ole Miss, and they officially began the long haul of long distance. Even with the space between them, Jake never stopped pursuing her or leading their relationship. He always made her feel like the most special and important person in his life, no matter how far apart they were. Over the past four years, they’ve navigated long distance, which only made their relationship stronger and made them appreciate their time together even more. Through it all, one thing has never changed—they have the most fun together. They can fully be themselves, and they laugh so much that every mile has been worth it. From the beginning, they knew what they had was different, special, and meant to be. On December 27th, 2024, Jake completely surprised Mccrae and proposed! For months, he and her friends had her convinced that her best friend Ashley was the one getting engaged—Mccrae even helped plan it, thinking she was making it perfect for Ashley. Turns out, it was actually for her the whole time! They’ve always talked and dreamed about one day getting married and starting a family that loves Jesus and each other wholeheartedly. And now, that dream is finally here!! Jesus has been the foundation of their relationship from the very beginning. He’s strengthened them, guided them, and blessed them beyond measure. They’re so grateful for His role in their love story and would love your prayers that He stays at the center of their marriage.
