We’d heard about each other, seen a few photos, but it took a specific evening to bring our worlds together. That night came on April 16th, 2022, at a lively birthday party. Terri, surrounded by her close-knit circle of friends, was having a great time, completely unaware of the bold move Troy was about to make. Troy, ever the confident strategist, decided that if he was going to ask Terri out, he would do it in a way that guaranteed a 'yes.' He approached her, and with a charming smile and a decisive tone, he asked “I wonder when Terri is going to let me take her on a date”—right in front of all her girlfriends. The collective "Aww" and encouraging nudges from her friends essentially sealed the deal, a move Terri laughs about to this day. It was a slightly theatrical but wonderfully characteristic beginning to our romance. We found ourselves strolling along the Seine in the city of light and love: Paris. The year was 2025, and the date was a poignant April 25th, three years after our first fateful meeting. As the sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the historic architecture, Troy brought Terri to the sparkling Eiffel Tower, a breathtaking spot. With a heart full of love and a nervous excitement he couldn't hide, he dropped to one knee. In a moment that felt both overwhelmingly grand and incredibly intimate, Troy asked Terri to spend the rest of her life with him as his wife.
