Molly & I met the day after Christmas, 2014 at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio. Molly had come down to one of the hotel’s restaurants, Cibolo Moon, with her family for lunch where I worked as a server. The McCourts chose to sit outside & I was asked to take the table for another server who just happened to go on lunch. Out of all of the McCourts I ended up speaking to her dad, Eamon, the most but I still remember Molly like it was yesterday. She wore a maroon long sleeve shirt with a vest, dark jeans & knee-high boots. I was never able to see her eyes as she was rockin’ some cool shades but her auburn hair was up in a long ponytail & her smile was perfect. She split a chicken quesadilla with her aunt & ordered a big red soda. On the way out, I got her a big red to-go & we ended our brief encounter with a smile and a goodbye. The next evening, my good friend Chris, sent me a cryptic text saying he had something for me. When asked what it was, “Don’t worry about it, just promise me I’m invited to the wedding” was his only response. We saw each other the next day & he passed me a handwritten note from Molly’s sister-in-law, Rebecca. While Molly joined her dad & brother at the Spurs game in town her mom & Rebecca came down to the restaurant to leave me a message. While reading the note, I immediately knew who it was from after an inside joke referencing tequila was mentioned & found Molly’s number at the end of it. Shortly after, I reached out to Molly to reintroduce myself as the server from the restaurant. After a long pause (Molly thought she was the victim of some prank & had interrogated her family to find the culprit), she finally responded & we hit it off talking about our shared love of wine, Italian food, & our dogs. She let me take her out to dinner a couple weeks later where we shared a pepperoni pizza, a bottle of Pinot, & tiramisu. I somehow convinced her to a second date, and it’s been an amazing ride ever since!
The plan was to have dinner in The Woodlands with Cameron’s family to celebrate successfully completing Whole 30, however Cameron surprised me and took me on a helicopter ride with beautiful views of the Houston skyline. No wonder he seemed so concerned about the cloudy weather all day… The skies literally cleared as we pulled up to the hanger, he proposed mid-air just before sunset, and I said “YES!” The next surprise came when I saw family and friends waving and cheering as we came in for the landing. It was a perfect evening full of surprises and celebrating! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you and look forward to dancing the night away with all of our favorite people! Love, Molly & Cameron
