This day is a chance for us to celebrate our love for each other and introduce our families to the other side of the aisle! You're all so important to us and we know you'll get along (at least some of you!), so we want to bring you together. On August 4th of 2021, it will be 10 years since our first date! On August 19th, it will be our 2 year marriage anniversary. Becca refuses to start the count over though, so it's 10 years. Tinfinity! (Bonus points if you get the reference).
We're planning on Moving to Columbia, Missouri in May or June for Becca to do her internship year at University of Missouri in Columbia. Will is being an absolute peach by coming along for the adventure!
We met at a house party at the Tady's house in early summer of 2011. Becca was accompanying a friend going to a stranger's party in "the big city" (a.k.a. O'fallon) and Will was joining his friends after a year away at college. We danced together at the encouragement of our friend Conner and quickly parted. Becca mostly wanted to dance alone and Will did not really want to dance. Becca remembers thinking, "This guy cannot dance" and Will remembers thinking "I am terrible at dancing." We parted ways with an exchange of social media and later reconnected via Skype right before the start of Fall semester in 2011. We talked for like 24 hours straight via Skype while Will was at the lake and Becca was at home in Breese. Will took Becca on her first date at 54th Street the day he got back from vacation and everything else is history. Well, it's all technically history. :)
"The one that I'm making with you right now."
I loved our experience of adopting Marshall and Lily. Will and I went into the Indy Humane Society expecting to come home with one cat, as Will had never had any pets, I had only had dogs, and I am allergic to cats. (We decided on a cat anyway, because they are lower maintenance than dogs and we both really wanted a pet). We walk in and both immediately notice the two cages at the front housing "special needs, bonded cats." One pair was older and both had significant health and weight concerns and the other pair were young and had vision issues. Will was in love, but I insisted we look at the THREE rooms of cats that did not need special care and came in singles rather than doubles. Will agreed and we found two other cats that sparked our interest in those three rooms. One little black cat, that another woman adopted as we were considering her, and one older calico that had not been cleared for adoption yet. I was set on the calico and coming back in two days to adopt. As many of you may know, Will is notoriously difficult to get out of the house, so he did not want to come back and he kept muttering about how those two kittens at the front were "blind like us" and "no one else was going to take them" and "who knew how long they would have to sit there" and "what if they end up getting separated" and so on. I emphasized the fact that I am very busy and he would be the main caretaker, 100% in charge of the litter box, and reminded him that he had never had one pet (let alone two). He insisted we at least interact with them to see if we connected. Needless to say, we did connect with them and we came home with two blind kittles to shower with our love. Not a single regret from either of us!
Marshall and Lily will either be at the Angad Arts Hotel with Will and Becca, in the Armstrong's basement, or in a pet hotel. We are not sure as of yet what we will need to do. Rest assured, they will be safe and comfortable.
