We met at a pool in College Station while Taylor was at Texas A&M University and Jeremy was working for College Station Fire Department. Taylor and her girlfriend Hunter were putting up a slip and slide behind the pool and Jeremy was reading at the pool. Jeremy naturally asked if he could join - and they let him. The day consisted of getting to know each other and talk of meeting up again - but school and life got in the way. Over a year went by before they decided to make it official. {8.22.15}
Two weeks before Taylor graduated Texas A&M, Jeremy found out he landed his dream job as a Firefighter/Paramedic in Plano, just outside of Dallas, Texas. With no vision beyond being together - Taylor decided to move with Jeremy to Dallas and they rented a 2 bedroom apartment while Taylor looked for jobs. Within the year, Taylor got a job with Southwest Airlines and they bought their first home together in April 2017.
Jeremy's family comes to Texas every year to visit us, and this year was set to be no different from Taylor's point of view. Jeremy's roommate from College Station, Lynde, quickly became one of Taylor's best friends. As she was coming to town for a visit, she wanted to do brunch quickly before Jeremy's family landed in Dallas. Unplanned, their food was overcooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen. {I think this was a breath of fresh air as Jeremy was organizing everyone to get to the house} When Taylor and Lynde left brunch, it was raining and gloomy outside. Jeremy's initial idea to propose at the Dallas Arboretum was luckily changed a couple days before when Jeremy decided to re-create the first time they met. He set up a slip and slide in their backyard and spray painted "Will you marry me?" on a black tarp pinned to the fence. As soon as Taylor opened the back yard gate - she knew. Jeremy came sliding across the tarp on his bare feet with a guitar and a dozen roses. After a song and a promise of forever, they went inside where both families stood united perfectly planned all by Jeremy. A dream come true.
