How We Met

Long distance love

Brooke and Erick met at a high school track meet through a mutual friend. Was it love at first sight? No. However, ten months later the relationship had officially begun. What followed over the next seven years was a classic story of a long distance relationship that travelled all over the great state of Texas. There were great times, and there were areas for improvement. In the end it is safe to say that this story had a happy ending.

How He Proposed

She never saw it coming

Brooke and Erick went to church on a bright and sunny Sunday morning in July. While they were away, some family members set up a beautiful area in the back yard that included flowers, champagne, and cookies. To reflect Brooke's love for the TV show "Friends", the cookies had the message "The one where we get engaged" printed on them. Upon returning from church, he dropped down on one knee with that beautiful smile of his. She could not resist.

A Unique Experience That We Had

You did what?

Erick attended college in Kerrville, and Brooke attended in San Angelo. One time, while attending college, Brooke and Erick drove to meet up halfway in a small town in the middle of nowhere. While there, they created their own obstacle course at a park playground. However, if you know Brooke, she could not just do the obstacle course for fun. It had to be a competition. So Brooke and Erick timed their runs through the playground obstacle course to see who was better. To this day it is the only obstacle course competition recorded at the small west Texas playground.
