The stars aligned on a warm California summer night in a small Irish pub in Mountain View. McColl was with her sister and some friends and David had just come back early from a weekend trip with his family. The dance floor lead to deep conversation and laughter. The next day - September 10th (exactly 5 years prior to our wedding day) - we went on our first date at Pioneer Park in downtown Mountain View where David has an overwhelming attachment to a Japanese rock garden. We had some drinks, played Jenga and talked the afternoon away. We spent the next year getting to know each other and our families and friends. A year after we met, our relationship turned long distance when McColl moved to Fresno for grad school; David got his first car to drive down on the weekends. When COVID-19 hit we moved into McColl's parents’ house and worked/ took classes down the hall from each other, we were happy to be together again. When McColl graduated, we moved into our own place with the Matthew's dog Hank where have enjoyed writing this next chapter together!
