Let's just start this off by saying our love was forbidden. Sean and I met while working at Trader Joe's. I was working an early shift and when I was getting ready to leave for the day Sean asked me "Oh are you leaving for the day?" I knew he was working a mid-shift that day and in my attempt at trying to be flirty I replied "Ya, sucks to be you!" and walked out of the breakroom. From Sean's perspective that was all it took for him to fall for me. A few days later the crew had organized a get together at one of the local breweries. I went in hopes of seeing him there. When I arrived there he was in a North Face sweater and a Carhartt beanie, dressed almost the same as his cousin. Unfortunately the seat next to him was taken, but by some miracle the girl next to him got up and told me to sit there. We started chatting and he asked me what too old was, I told him 30 thinking there was no way he was that old! His cousin, Alex started laughing and I knew from that response he was over 30. He thought his chance with me was blown, but little did he know that I liked him and I was willing to try dating an old guy *winky face*. We ended up hanging out and went to the Denver Aquarium on our first date. I ended up quitting Trader Joe's and our love was no longer forbidden. Ever since we have been building a life together. It is still unknown who said 'I love you' first...but it was definitely me by accident. Nevertheless, we can't wait to take these next steps in life together and keep growing as a couple. -Jess
The weekend started off with us heading up to Steamboat Springs, CO to celebrate Sean's 35th birthday. What was meant to be a fun filled trip quickly turned into a rollercoaster ride of a weekend. It started with my car breaking down on the way home from picking his friends up from the airport, and packing in like sardines in his Volvo for about 3 hours. We spent 2 nights in Steamboat Springs and on the Fourth of July, on our way out of town everyone insisted on going up the ski chair lift. So we went up the lift and hiked over to a lookout over Steamboat Springs. Sean told me to stand there looking out so that he could take a picture of me. So I stood there and posed; after a few moments I hear Sean say "Jessica". As I turned around there he was on one knee, hands shaking with a beautiful sparkling ring. He asked "Will you marry me?" and of course I said, "Yes!"
