Like many 2020 love stories, ours began with a dating app and a whole lot of hand sanitizer. We matched on Hinge in July 2020 - right in the thick of the pandemic, when dating felt more like a science experiment than a rom-com. For the first two weeks, we got to know each other the only way we could: through texts, video calls, and even a virtual movie night (we watched Superbad, obviously). Once we both got our COVID test results back (negative, thankfully), we finally met in person. Our first date was a walk with Paisley (Kylie’s pup) along the Iron Horse Trail in Danville. Adam showed up with flowers and his signature sense of humor, and we instantly hit it off. From there, our days were filled with backyard hangs, DIY project brainstorming, and endless conversations that never seemed to run dry. When Kylie got COVID, Adam came to the backyard almost every day for two weeks, dropping off food, cheering her up, and talking to her through the sliding screen door. Even quarantine couldn’t keep us apart. On August 28, 2020, Adam officially asked Kylie to be his girlfriend, and the rest is history.
