Where to stay

We would strongly recommend having your stay in Boone instead of Jefferson. Boone has far more to do with more restaurants, shopping, and activities. All of our recommended attractions and things to do circle around Boone and are no more than a 40 minute drive. Boone is the hub of the mountains of North Carolina north of Asheville. The drive from Boone to the venue is about 50 minutes. There are plenty of hotels in the area, but this is also a vacation town and it is surrounded by ski resorts, there are a plethera of cabins and homes that you cant rent for a couple nights for extremely reasonable, even better than hotel prices. Try Airbnb or VRBO if you prefer to stay here instead of a hotel. Jefferson also has hotels and rentals, but expect far less attractions and restaurants.

Flight

Charlotte Douglas International Airport

The largest major airport to us is in Charlotte, about two hours away. You would need to rent a car, get a ride, or hop on one of the shuttles that heads up this way. We recommend driving because of this as well as the likelihood that it will be cheaper. Plus, North Carolina and the Blue Ridge Mountains are anything BUT a boring drive!
