Michael and Lauren met in 2015 at work. Michael worked night shift and Lauren worked day shift, only seeing each other on shift exchange. As Mike was leaving work every morning, Lauren would say “bye, have a good day” every time she saw mike. Mike always said that he would hide from Lauren when she was working if he was looking lazy (sweatpants, sweatshirt). Mike one day sent Lauren a Snapchat, and that’s how they began talking, only through Snapchat never through texting. Mike and Lauren continued snap chatting. Mike asked Lauren one day if she wanted to go play Pokémon Go, and of course, at that time that was the thing to do, so of course Lauren said “sure.” This was the first time Lauren and Mike hung out outside of work. After that day it became almost a daily thing of hanging out. Mike and Lauren’s first date was at Taco Bell, and still remains their favorite place to eat. Mike and Lauren continued to talk via Snapchat even when Mike went away on vacations, or to drill one weekend a month. Eventually we slowly began talking via texting. Finally, on September 17, 2016, Mike asked Lauren to be his girlfriend at the drive-in (another favorite date place), at first Lauren thought he was kidding and replied “No,” but then realized he was seriously asking and said “Yes.” From there years flew by, making memories together on the hundreds of different adventures together. On December 21, 2019 Mike asked Lauren to marry him on the top of Mount Washington, in Pittsburgh PA. FUN FACT: Mike and Lauren still have a Snapchat streak 🙂
