We're getting married!

Two of my best friends since childhood, one of them being the notorious Chase Curit, invited me to a party at the apartment that they had just moved into. I was invited to go to a different party that night with a girlfriend, but decided to go see my good buddy Chase instead. I showed up fashionably late, grabbed a drink and took a seat at their dining table which was a classic bachelor pad folding card table with matching chairs. The guys were playing Super Smash Bros on the couch so, me, being used to this, decided to just chill at the table until their round was done. While sitting at the table, I noticed a new face playing games with my friends. I was biding my time and surfin’ the socials. Suddenly, a man notices me and decided he wants to try his hand at a conversation with me. He attempts to brag to me about how he is in the Navy, he goes to NC State and that I should obviously be very impressed. I was clearly not interested but I didn’t want to be rude. The new face playing games with chase that I noticed earlier finished playing a round and came over to the table. He immediately interrupted the conversation between me and Navy guy. Apparently they knew each other! Now, I got to really get a good look at this guy. Beautiful face. Exquisite. Now I’m talking to him. British accent? I’m hooked. Going to NC State for forensic anthropology? Take me out of the oven, because I am done! I literally thought “Oh my GOD this man is so fine. I’m gonna marry this dude.” Next thing I know, theres a knock on the door. It’s his Chinese food delivery. This man ordered Chinese food to a party just for himself. I’m in love. I asked him for his number a couple times, he nervously laughed and thought I was bullying him. By the end of the night, after staying up talking until 4am, just before we parted ways and I headed home, he walked me to my car and I finally scored those digits. We went out the next day for Chinese food and have been inseparable ever since.

I had moved into a student apartment with a group of friends I made in college. One day, I found out that my old roommate, Gabe, had also moved into the complex. I decided to head over there and meet his roommates, one of which was Chase. We became good friends. One day they wanted to throw a party at their apartment and wanted me to get some drinks for everyone. I got the drinks and we were playing games when a knock came from the door. In walks in Kaitlyn, this beautiful stranger that happened to be childhood friends with Chase. She sat at the table and was approached by Gabe. The look on her face as he talked could only be summarized as, “Get the hell away from me.” I decided to introduce myself and steal her away from her previous one-sided conversation. She was a brilliant, rising scholar in pursuit of a Criminal Psychology career. Stunning and smart, graceful in her demeanor. The hours ticked away as we shared stories of ourselves and before we knew it the clock said 4 a.m. She had asked for my number a few times but I thought she was kidding, how could she want to keep talking to me? Before she drove off in the early hours of the morning she took my phone and put it in herself. But I had no idea that would be one of the last times she would drive away from me. The next day we met up for food and from every day since we have not left each others side.

After almost a year into the COVID-19 pandemic and two reschedulings later, we took a trip to Walt Disney World. On our first park day, we planned to spend it at EPCOT drinking and eating around the world showcase. We had lunch in Mexico and made our way through Norway, China, Germany, Italy and the American Pavilion before reaching the Japan Pavillion. After waiting in line for photopass pictures in front of the Torii that looks out over the water, it was finally our turn. As we were finishing up taking pictures, Sam got down on one knee and asked the question. We spent the rest of the week celebrating at Disney World, wearing "Happily Ever After" buttons, and getting special treatment from every cast member.
