Kyle and I both attended Georgia Tech, where he was on the baseball team, and I was on the softball team. The first time we ever met was on April 18, 2018, in the Pittsburgh airport, where we were both playing that weekend. After meeting him, I remember texting my mom “I just met the funniest guy ever and I could not stop laughing”. Many would think this is where our love story began but it in fact did not. We continued our seasons and went home for summer and didn’t reconnect until October that same year at an annual concert. It all began when I went to talk to Keyton, a childhood friend of mine, and it just so happened that he was talking to that funny guy I met at the airport. It was then when I officially was introduced to my future husband and best friend, Kyle McCann. Our first date was on December 6th of that same year at Antico’s Pizza and of course I just remember laughing the whole time. But if you were to ask him it would be that I ate my pizza with a fork and knife (LOL). That spring we had to learn how to navigate us both being in season and being constantly busy, but little did we know that would be the beginning of our journey. In June of 2019, Kyle was drafted to the Oakland Athletics to pursue his dream of being a professional baseball player. He was quickly shipped off to Arizona and then Vermont for his first short season as a professional athlete. We are now in our third season of long distance, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Getting to see Kyle live out his dream has been so fun, and I am forever proud of him. December 12, 2021, is the day that changed both of our lives forever. In downtown Alpharetta, right beside the Christmas tree, is where Kyle got down on a knee and asked me to spend forever with him. I cannot wait to marry Kyle and to have each one of you there to witness and celebrate with us!
