We met at a friend’s house, but our real connection began during a weekend camping near Cannon Beach. Surrounded by friends and late-night campfire conversations, we found ourselves talking for hours and realizing there was something special there. During a time of big change, we found comfort and safety in each other—and not long after, we started dating. Turns out, great conversations around a campfire can change everything. About five months later, life surprised us when we found out we were expecting our daughter. While unplanned, we chose each other fully and committed to building a life and family together—learning quickly that teamwork, love, and a sense of humor go a long way. From there, we focused on growing our relationship, creating a home, and learning how to show up for one another. About a year after our daughter was born, we bought our home in Tacoma, where we now balance careers, parenthood, and everyday life. Ryan proposed at Lake Chelan, at a condo that has been in his family for generations. On the back patio at sunset—on Amber’s birthday, with Ella by our side—he proposed with a ring he and Ella picked out together. She said yes! After everything we’ve been through, we know this is it. We’ve grown through challenges, stood by each other, and built something strong, real, and full of love. With our amazing little family, we’re so excited to get married and continue this life together.
