MBTA

We recommend using the MBTA instead of booking a rental car unless you are interested in leaving the city. From the airport, you would take Silver Line 1 to South Station, where you transfer to the Red Line going toward Alewife. Get off at Harvard Square. If you are driving in, consider leaving your car at Alewife or another MBTA terminus for better parking.

Travel Note

Hotels

As the wedding is taking place in Harvard Square, it is easily accessible via the MBTA Red Line, so any hotel along the Red Line would work well. The Porter Square Hotel and Hotel 1868 are both in Porter Square, one stop from Harvard Square. There are a wide variety of hotels in Greater Boston, some more affordable, beyond the three listed below.

Parking

Parking in Cambridge is not easy or cheap. We recommend parking at Alewife or another MBTA terminus for more affordable/available parking. There is valet parking at the Sheraton Commander Hotel for $25 for the wedding and $45 overnight. There are also two paid parking garages in Harvard Square, Harvard Square Parking Garage and Charles Square Garage. If you stay at the Porter Square Hotel or Hotel 1868, they have parking for $28 per night (7ft height limit).

Uber/Lyft

Uber/Lyft is a convenient way to get around Boston at any time. Be prepared for high prices, though.
