Scott and Molly first met at a volleyball tournament in Orlando, but really got to know each other at yet another volleyball event in Dallas. This is the place where sparks flew as they held hands, talked for hours on end, and went on their first date at the Aquarium. After worrying about dealing with a long-distance relationship, they ended up playing professional volleyball in Germany only 5 hours away from each other (which is nothing compared to a transatlantic relationship!). Germany was the most picturesque backdrop to fall in love in, filled with beautiful landscapes, stunning castles, and Championship titles. After experiencing all of this together, how could they not be getting married. That’s how all fairytales end, right?
So, about the whole transatlantic relationship… Scott retired to California while Molly stayed in Germany for another 9-month long pro season. With a small window to see each other, they were able to meet for a few wintry days in Denver, CO. Cue December 29, 2018 in Estes Park where, after a quick lunch date, Scott sat Molly down on a creek side bench and recounted all the reasons they were perfect for each other. A kneel, a question, and an answer later, they were engaged to be husband and wife!
